This is a link post Follow up on one minute one take rippingoffness I made this!
Hullo! Thought I'd give an update on my situation with someone ripping off a film I made and winning a trip to Cannes, which I mentioned yesterday here: www.b3ta.com/links/487214

MoFilm were very nice and reasonable and professional when I spoke to them directly, and both them and Nokia have issued an apology, as can be seen here and here. The person who entered it has had her prizes revoked and been sent back from Cannes. Meanwhile our film is being shown at the London Film Festival, which I've been given free tickets too! RESULT!

Thanks so much to everyone who made a big deal about this! If I ever meet any of you I'll at least give you a hug, maybe even a beverage.

I did wonder if the organisers, (Mo film and Nokia) would just sweep it under the carpet and palm you off with an excuse to avoid embarrassment and save them the trouble of dealing with it.

It took a while to get the Nokia PR leviathan to move, but it seems to have done the right thing.

Hopefully the girl who made the copy has learnt her lesson and will move on. Better she was caught now rather than later.

They were assisted by one of those 'student ambassador' type people who Nokia give stuff to so they go around Uni saying how great Nokia is it sounds like.
