i've been there, worked there, found everyone i met to be really nice, very competent and intelligent.
Then when i leave the states, the only news i ever here from there seems to consist of extreme right wing politics, mentals and darwin award nominees.

when i was there (holiday'd Boston, Philly, Florida; worked: Seattle) everyone was great.
yet outside of the states all it's citizens are presented as either "The last sane person surrounded by a world gone mad" or "gun toting homophobes unable to control their diet or crippling need to purchase useless shit and run up credit card debt"

Just to make myself clear:
