This is a link post Monty Python Choreographed Conservative Speech (Cut)
I were listening to that there Kermode and Mayo and someone wrote in under the name of KP Spong, which reminded me of the topicality of the python election sketch and whilst looking I came across this.

[history: The Choreographed Conservative Party Sketch was cut by the BBC from the opening of episode 38 of "Monty Python's Flying Circus" when a 1970s U.K. repeat aired too close to an election, and was never re-inserted. (It was replaced by a few simple graphics.) This comes from a Canadian collector's ½-inch off-air recording of a Buffalo PBS broadcast back in 1978. Alas the TV station's chyron advertising a pledge fund drive is burned into the screen ]

For those of you who would prefer the Election Night Special after all: www.youtube.com/watch?v=31FFTx6AKmU
and also, a quick take on a tory candidate that wasn't a million miles off BoJo on Marr this a.m. Emperor Diocletian? dick. www.youtube.com/watch?v=MfzwIms-M5M

tldr. Sketch you don't normally see.

(anyone help me with the embed code for preview pic and hotlink for other links)

don't be a cunt all your life Jeffrey.

Everytime I try and paste anything else into the url field and save changes, including https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cnysuUGxfLI it reverts back to the one you and the rest of us can see. other shit does nothing to change it either. i.e it won't let me change the field at all.

I said " it won't change with whatever i put in now. but the other hyperlinkthing done good. Thanks Troll".... and

This is a normal post I don't much care for Python.
Lots of crap, and only a few gems. But I guess at the time it was pretty revolutionary. Life of Brian is aces though.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=cnysuUGxfLI will embed it. You need to remove all the crap in between "watch?" and "v=".
For a hyperlink just remove the "s" after http, or all the crap before "www".

This is a normal post I enjoyed Harry and Paul's take on Python.
It's pretty merciless. www.youtube.com/watch?v=PkXijMsrEJ4

Ye, that Harry and Paul bit was a highlight of the BBC2 celebrations. They didn't deal it out to themelves as harsh as others though, particularly after Paul's proper shit throwing j'accuse moments during the fast show years with Higson

Got a source for Paul's shit throwing? That passed me by.

that clip there was the one that prompted me to think PW gave him an easy ride. I had been looking forward to the same treatment being meted out. The interview I can't find has PW and CH talking about how Harry took the credit for their creations and became the rich star. They were asked what lessons they learned it was something like , don't trust someone like that who says one thing and and then screws you. It was quite bitter and didn't seem to be tongue in cheek

This is a normal post I dunno
best I could find was this: www.independent.co.uk/life-style/the-interview-paul-whitehouse-talks-to-ben-thompson-1318342.html
The relevant bit is the end of paragraph four.
Interviewer is at pains to make clear it was tongue in cheek here. I think it's probably a well worn riff, and like all the best sarcasm it is sometimes delivered completely straight, with a stony face, so can be mis-read. Enfield made his name doing voices on Spitting Image, so I think he was Whitehouse's and Higson's way in.

might be a riff, but it was the two of them and they came back to it. i'll look again later or someone else might find.

This is a normal post I met Paul Whitehouse once.
He was in my local. He was shit faced after a nearby gig. I'd had a few too. I said something really lame like "I'm a big fan of your work", he said something like "that's very nice of you to say so". Seemed like a decent bloke.
