TWELVE ANGRY MEN
I made this!
Yes, there is too much text here and yes, I'm whoring my new blog, but it's a bit more than that. I just don't have the skillz to make my own website and I wanted to get the ball rolling while the idea is fresh in my head.
The main idea is that
(a) people who, like me, have spent a fair part of their life making music, still love doing it but realise that they aren't going to get many fans outside of their bedroom
(b) people who have always wanted to be involved in music but aren't really talented/focussed/motivated enough to ever finish a song
(c) people with lots of good ideas and no real outlet to make them into songs
(d) friendly, nice, possibly very talented and already successful people who want to help out and be an anonymous/known part of the community
(e) people with writer's block who are looking for some fresh ideas (who will give credit financially to whoever they got the idea from if any money comes out of it)
can come here and help someone else finish a song, collaborate with other people to make something new, if you become a regular contributor (a friendly one that doesn't try and kill the buzz or make fun of people - no matter how talented you are, I'm hoping I can get something good happening here), I'll let you put up your own unfinished bizness for other people to try and finish, or general ideas/lyrics to songs you never got around to finishing/didn't have the energy/talent to start. Too many slashes in that sentence.
Post comments if you are interested.

Just make sure it's your own work - I don't want copyright issues to rear up if it does, by some miracle, start to make people money.
I am actually trying to do this seriously, but I'll let you be in charge of making sure people have fun while we do it. If it actually goes anywhere.

I like the idea
Though I would prefer it if you could only listen to streaming versions. I, too, wouldn't want people downloading my songs and using them as their own.

That kind of undermines the whole 'download the song and add something to it' thing.
It's not really meant for people who are chasing a record deal.
If you're not comfortable giving a song out for free, don't.
I'll be putting up plenty of my own as I've been working at it for 10 years and have a huge backlog of things that would never otherwise see the light of day. If people like them, it's enough for me.
I hope people can add to them.
