This is a question Addicted

Cigarettes, gambling, porn and booze. What's your addiction? How low have you sunk and how have you tried to beat it?

Thanks to big-girl's-blouse for the suggestion

Lining things up....
...If I'm looking out of a window, I *have* to keep any upright part of the frame in focus and try and line it up with a vertical outside - say on the house across the road, or a lamp post. This involves craning, stooping, peering and squinting, and I get a small sense of satisfaction in knowing that either the window or the reference point isn't exactly plum upright (should it indeed prove not to be so...)

I've been doing this since I was a kid, and have absolutely no interest in horizontal alignments.

surely that's not an addiction
and more of an OCD?

Hurrah!
I do this too! And yes, it probably does verge upon OCD.

I do horizontal too, and if I can focus upon a pattern I'm a very contented boy indeed.

At the moment I work in the Ministry of Truth. Actually it's a warehouse but the bit I work in has no windows.

This does'nt excite me at all. My office is in the middle of lots of horizontal and vertical dexion racking yet I don't try to create alignments out of them - only windows get me going.

I'd go one up on you and say that if I CAN'T get a perfect alignment I will squirm about and bend my head until I do. It's only now, as I write this, that I realise how odd I must have been looking to people for the past 40 years.

Well done - keep it up and have a (probably wasted but what do these heathens know) click off me.

We will meet in the place where there is no darkness. THAT'LL fuck your head up...

So it's not just me then?
I also line up raindrops on the window to other reference points outside. Never thought of it as an addiction though.

BTW - Vertical only for me too

It's only an addiction...
...if you can give up at any time...

(Bloody hell! that's reet profound for me!)
