As has most likely been pointed out many times already, your whinge might be a bit more credible if pooflake weren't an utterly tedious purveyor of tired, unfunny 'anecdotes' and sub-sixth form waki bollocks. Almost as shit as the execrable spankyhanky: 'long story short, something wholly implausible happened, something went up my arse and everything was covered in semen'. Or endless 'amusing' neologisms for spunk/sex/whatever. Week in, week out. Hilarious! Truly, those were the days.

Pooflake stories were obviously fictional but..relevant, well-written, wry, self-deprecating and usually worth a 'like'. Also, he rarely if ever criticised anyone else. His detractors seem to concentrate on ripping apart contributions rather than adding them, while he concentrated on amusing us

I found them both to be pretty funny, actually.
Pooflake as described above, and Spanky for his over-the-top descriptions and general absurdity. He wrote erotica gone terribly wrong, and it was hilarious.

Legless also got unfairly ripped apart. His stories were generally pretty believable, often self-deprecating and generally well crafted- I could imagine him telling them over a pint. But of course he was telling enough stories that it suddenly became de rigeur to bash him, so eventually he left in disgust.

The others have simply moved on as the QOTW got increasingly unfriendly.
