This is a question Accidental animal cruelty

I once invented a brilliant game - I'd sit at the top of the stairs and throw cat biscuits to the bottom. My cat would eat them, then I'd shake the box, and he would run up the stairs for more biscuits. Then - of course - I'd throw a biscuit back down to the bottom. I kept this going for about half an hour, amused at my little game, and all was fine until the cat vomited. I felt absolutely dreadful.

Have you accidentally been cruel to an animal?
This question has been revived from way, way, way back on the b3ta messageboard when it was all fields round here.

This is a QotW answer Is cow tipping an urban myth, or does it actually work?
?

This is a QotW comment Well, cows don't sleep standing up
so you can probably work out the answer from there.

This is a QotW comment dont know if its because they're asleep
but it does. This I can vouch for this from experience.
However they respond very quickly once they're down so its best to run very fast.

This is a QotW comment You can, I guess
but it's not spontaneous. It takes someone who knows what they're doing and a cow that's sick, tired or slow enough to stand fast while you tie up a back leg and push on the opposite front. She'll sort of fall in slow motion onto her side and then you can examine her. Sometimes very exhausted cows will calve in this position.
