This is a question Redundant technology

Music on vinyl records, mobile phones the size of house bricks and pornography printed on paper. What hideously out of date stuff do you still use?

Thanks to boozehound for the suggestion

I like this
I've not long moved from a flat into a lovely bungalow, I have never removed my duvets I packed when I moved because the joys of blankets came back to me when I took stock of the fact this place has an open fire.

The only thing that isn't right about having blankets now is the fact my mum doesn't come and tuck me in super tight anymore. :)

I learnt to tuck myself in
from this

i hated being tucked in!
i just can't stand that feeling of being restricted

any form of high tog value would send me into a panic attack

i radiate heat to the point some days i think i might be turning into the human torch.

How long do the blankets take to make and how many
do you need to be warm ?
(, Thu 4 Nov 2010, 16:30, closed)
i can make a single-bed-sized blanket in 2 weeks
and if i use aran wool, one will keep you warm. double knit will mean you need 2 or 3 if it's really cold.

Are you...
Are you my nana?

If so, please can you not insist on making me a cup of tea at six in the morning when I come and visit.

Thanks

pfff
i'm not even a mum, never mind a nana!
(, Thu 4 Nov 2010, 16:38, closed)

thanks for the advice smash
im probably going to look for one on the bay as i wouldnt have the patience or knowledge to make my own. My home is like a steam punk enthusiasts wet dream so i reckon these sorts of blankets will fit right in with the rest of the madness going on.

you may be better trying to make one yourself
you can make a double bed-sized blanket for £30, but if you buy one, it could cost up to £100
