This is a question Bullies

My mum told me to stand up to bullies. So I did, and got wedgied every day for a month. I hated my boss.

I don't think so.
I think teachers have now gone in the opposite direction. Whilst I remember most of my teachers being, quite frankly, hard arse bastards, most of the teachers I meet now are rather too soft and rely on psychology and understanding. Whilst this has it's place, just because he/she comes from a 'broken home' it is not a good excuse for beating the crap out of someone smaller.

Actually, it's very much like the Germans who can be overly, and needlessly, apologetic for the Nazis.

i don't deny your points
i'm arguing more about blaming the profession for a minority of bad eggs. Besides, the "softly, softly" approach is more the institution and governments fault IMO.

I had one teacher that condoned my bullying
But several that told me that school wasn't forever, told me what I could do with my life, patched me up and discreetly handed me tissues. It's those I remember more.

Roopy
I do agree with you. I come from a family of teachers (Grandmother, two Aunts and my Mother), and they are pissed off with the "softly softly" approach. And I'm pretty sure that it's not because they like beating up kids.
