Home time early!My friend of mine works for the Department of Health. He's just been telling me that at 4.30pm today (Friday) a suspect package was delivered, and the bomb squad had to come. So everyone fucked off home early.
He said the atmosphere was just like a fire drill at school and everyone was really happy. There were high level civil servants shouting "Home early! I love bomb threats." and "Can you imagine if they blew up the offices? We wouldn't have to go to work on Monday."

I call shennanigans.I was a civil servant for a few years. Every civil servant and every admin worker in the entire public sector has an early dart on a friday at 4pm. Every single one.

actually it's 15.30 if you still run core time for our dept (CLG), also depends on teh dept and if you have to run a late rota (bastards).
