Similarly...We once made a gallows on top of a very large public bonfire and hung the guy from it.
We were told it was in bad taste and to take it down so he could be burnt to death instead.

Yup, I've seen his 'before and after torture' signatures in the British Museum.The second is just a shaky scrawl. Chilling.
