I don't understand the attractionSmaug says: Ricky Gervais. Lesbian pr0n. Going into a crowded bar, purely because it's crowded. All these things seem to be popular with everybody else, but I just can't work out why. What leaves you cold just as much as it turns everyone else on?

.I would agree with you for people that use it to the exclusion of a actual social life. However those that do probably didn't have one to begin with, so no harm done.
I think facebook and myspace has actually increased my real life social life. In fact it actually responsible for me getting together with my current girlfriend. One of my friends got a long term relationship out of it (still going).
Really it don't think it is much worse than the internet was to begin with.
