My own mother refused to let me use the word 'oblong' instead of 'rectangle'. Which is just odd, to be honest.

HahahaAn old workmate of mine once awoke to discover an alien attacking him. Like any good Scotsman, he immediately began swearing and hitting it in the face as it dragged him through the ethereal haze which surrounded it.
Turns out he'd come home drunk, put two gammon steaks under the grill and fell asleep, and then assaulted the fireman who was dragging him to safety through the smoke filled room.
Apparently the gammon steaks looked like charred ten pence pieces.
