This is a question Complaining

I like writing letters of complaint to companies containing the words "premier league muppetry", if only to give the poor office workers a good laugh on an otherwise dull day. Have you ever complained? Did it work?

So to keep things balanced
on of my collegues bought a pair of Timberland boots. He had them for 18 years before they started to fall apart.

They were well loved and comfortable. He realised they were probably done for, but just on the offchance, he sent them to Timberalnd with a polite note saying he realised they were very old, but was it was possible to get new soles and heels on them.

A few weeks later he got them back, soled, heeled, reconditioned and looking immacualte. They were accompanied by a letter saying they hoped he would get many more years from them, and apologies for the inconvenience. No charge.

Top marks for Timberland.

I love it..
when that happens! Two thumbs up, Timberland!

Logitech are pretty good for that too! I had a G25 wheel that was over a year out of warranty. The belt that did the force feedback had gone and I emailed them asking for advice.

Within the week, I had a new wheel and had to smash and take a pic of the old one to prove I destroyed it. Fun all round!

Also had 2 £60 mice replaced over 4 years that had died with them too. Great company!

It's much, much better
for companies to be like this than to be cunts about stuff. The loyalty you get back is amazing.

Only problem is though, no one ever needs to buy a new pair of boots...

True,
but I bought some of their boots, and a few other bits and peices of theirs too over the years.

Timberland boots come with a lifetime guarantee
they used to highlight this in their ads but don't seem to shout about it now

i go through about two pairs a year - the boots are probably still serviceable i should add, but i'm too old to look fashionably scruffy at work

i'm glad we had this little chat

two pairs a year?
presumably you use them for work or something?

Wasn;t aware of the lifetime guarantee bit, but that would explain it. Still, 18 years of normal wear and tear, I'm still impressed.

I hope the pair of 'Cats' (shoes, not kittehs) I bought the other week
last as long as this.
