This is a question The B3TA Confessional

With the Pope about to visit the UK, what better time to unburden yourself of anything that's weighing on your mind by posting it on the internet? Pay particular attention to the Seven Deadly Sins of lust, greed, envy, pride, posting puns on the QOTW board and the other ones. Top story gets to kneel before His Holiness's noodly appendage, or something

That's first-hand life experience, not extrapolation.

To be honest,
I've also listened to and read many contrarian rants similar to yours.

They're often to be found on Daily Mail comments threads or holding forth in the pub, railing against whatever opinion or facet of modern culture is popular these days, simply because they think they're edgy. Of course arguing against such types seldom gets you a decent, reasoned reply.

I think you'll actually find that many people hold opinions,
And that many have never even heard of the Daily Mail.

One man's contrarian is another man's conformist, and all that.

Indeed,
but my life experience suggests that some people's opinions are worth much more than others. Your argument against atheism is lacking, yet you're bang on about the Smiths, although probably for different reasons than me. Funny old game.

You appear to be confusing opinion with fact.
And taking things very, very seriously.

Chill, baby - have a wank. It always helps.

I've noticed this as well
regarding FlanBoy and confusion between facts and opinions and seriousness.

Nope,
I just generally have some time when I'm bored to argue against some of the more bullshit postings by edgy non-conformist radicals like yourself and El Vag. Believe me, I don't exactly lose sleep over the likes of you two or you know, have feelings of rage based on a young man's attire...

I suspect that
I really don't fit into the"edgy non-comformist radical" mold, I'm rather more of a conformist than I'd like to be, possibly that makes me a "wannabe edgy non-conformist radical".
Basically, I just dislike rules that are unnecessary, and we(I'm an Aussie) have a lot (I believe).

You didn't see this young man.
His attire would have provoked Ghandi to fisticuffs.
