This is a question Conversation Killers

ThatNiceMan asks: Have you ever been talking with people down the pub when somebody throws such a complete curveball (Sample WTF moment: "I wonder what it's like to get bummed") that all talk is stopped dead? Tell us!

8 weeks is far to early to tell.
I'm sure some anti-abortionists would disagree but I wouldn't even call a couple of months "pregnant" in the sense that a baby is to be expected.

I'm rolling my eyes so hard at this.

So you'd have women tell everyone that they're pregnant at two months?
You don't think that, perhaps, delaying the announcement would avoid almost everyone she knows telling her how sorry they are -- apart from the people who, a year or so later, ask her how her kid is?
Roll your eyes all you fucking want but I'd not wish the anguish I could see on a woman's face when been asked about her dead child on anyone. Apologies if "Don't count your chickens" sounds incredibly callous, but when my nephew dies I don't want all manner of uninvolved people pestering my family about how he is, for example.
Edit: I possibly misread your post?
