This is a question Hotel Splendido

Enzyme writes, "what about awful hotels, B&Bs, or friends' houses where you've had no choice but to stay the night?"

What, the place in Oxford that had the mattresses encased in plastic (crinkly noises all night), the place in Blackpool where the night manager would drum to the music on his ipod on the corridor walls as he did his rounds, or the place in Lancaster where the two single beds(!) collapsed through metal fatigue?

Add your crappy hotel experiences to our list.

It really was a shanty town I think.
in the dusty road that lead up to the hotel, which was somewhere in a back street, people had left bowls of dog food and cat out for all the stray cats and dogs. I cant recall exactly what the hotel was called, it was something like "The Prince", it was no way a 4 fucking star hotel, but I heard that in Italy the star ratings is worked out by the owner of the hotel by way of what he thinks he should award himself for his own hotel.
