the same thing happend to us a while ago (nearly)
Our house got struck by lightning in 1998 and it somehow affected the meter for the electricity, meaning we put in say, a fiver, and it lasted weeks! Seriously this thing was a GOD!
But we phoned up and reported it and the leccy company said they would send someone round. Fast forward to 2008 and they finally came around to fix it, and said we owed them £4,000 to pay em back cause we didnt report them when we had, we told them and they looked up the records and they admitted it was their fault after a few legal threats. Why not do the same?
