This is a question The Credit Crunch

Did you score a bargain in Woolworths?
Meet someone nice in the queue to withdraw your 10p from Northern Rock?
Get made redundant from the job you hated enough to spend all day on b3ta?

How has the credit crunch affected you?

We all have to make sacrifices…

Last night I was informed that on a recent evening out in the Coventry area, a man was happily munching on a ‘mixed-meat special’ curry when he felt something odd between his teeth

Reaching into his mouth, he removed the offending article and on closer inspection he discovered that he had indeed been chomping on…

A small microchip.

The implant kind that are used to tag dogs.

Seems that during the current economic crisis, the curry house had made a few cutbacks of their own...particularly on their meat budget.

There's a credit 'crunch' for you.

Eeeeuuuuwwww.

Apparently this is in the local papers but I don’t read them so cannot substantiate the claim. This must be an urban myth…If someone can prove / disprove it for me I’d appreciate it :)

Sounds very legendy
Friend of a friendy, rumours centred around local takeaways cooking pets, sounds very legendy...

Plus dog microchips are tiny, size of a grain of rice if that. It would be hard to tell if it was a microchip without putting it under some sort of magnification.

Don't let that get in the way of a good yarn though...

It's the equivalent
of the "seven different types of semen" on the pub bar nuts and kebab meat being "80% pigeon and 20% unidentifiable".

What's weird is that pigeon is quite a tasty bird, and also not that cheap, so if that were true, its the kebab man that's being ripped off.

I'll have a look in the Observer,
not that that by any means contains news. Or facts.

Cov
My mate had a 'chicken' kebab each a few years back from a place down by Pool Meadow. My Doner was alright apart from being a bit greasy, but his didnt taste anything like chicken. It did taste a little like poultry of some kind but I couldnt identify what (I was rat arsed after all). Although pigeon is more expensive if you buy properly reared ones from a butcher, theyre a lot cheaper if you catch them with a net in the town centre at night.

I wonder if it was the same place.
