The customer is always right. And yet, as 'listentomyopinion' writes, this is utter bollocks.

Tell us of the customers who were wrong, wrong, wrong but you still had to smile at (if only to take their money.)

I tried my hardest
Someone phoned me with major attitude

Unfortunately I couldn't help because our department does not handle what the customer wanted.

Usually I transfer the call but the number she needed was not on our system so the only option was to give her the direct dial so she could get through to someone who could help.

Now comes the best bit.

She didn't have a pen to write down the number

I said no problem I'll wait while you go and get one..

Her: I DON'T HAVE A PEN.

Me: That's ok its an easy number to remember

Her: WHY DON'T I HAVE A PEN?

Me: It really is a easy number.

Her: YOU SHOULD SUPPLY ME WITH A PEN!

Me : Errm

Her: I NEED A FUCKING PEN!!!!! (SLAMS PHONE DOWN)

ME: What a Twat.

You should send everyone in the country a pen, just in case this should happen again.
