You're not the only one who does this. Every single person in the town where I work seems to have this affliction. I watch in amazement as I ride (motorcycle) towards the crossing and see them walk up to the edge of the road and head right across and reach the otherside without once turning their head to look either side at all.

I see pensioners do it. Either they must have incredible luck to have survived to such an age (in which case, I wonder if I should stop them and ask for lottery number suggestions), or they've just given up on life and are happy to gamble on the roads.
