This is a question Pointless Experiments

Pavlov's Frog writes: I once spent 20 minutes with my eyes closed to see what it was like being blind. I smashed my knee on the kitchen cupboard, and decided I'd be better off deaf as you can still watch television.

nutmeg
is supposed to induce a druggie psychedelic feeling if two or three cloves are chewed and swallowed.

It doesn't. It just gives you a fuckoff great headache, gutrot for months and a serious aversion to anything nutmeggy for years.

Oh, and smoking banana peel just makes you cough too, in case you were wondering.

there's a reason no-one ever bothered to make some things illegal.

Tried it
And I second these comments. Nutmeg _can_ give a high - or so big bill burroughs states. However it is severely emetic and difficult to get sufficient dosage. Wrap loads in bread pellets if you're that interested.

Banana skins however is pure urban mythology. Someone noticed that there's an indole-based compound in banana skins and assumed there was an easy way to turn it into one of the indole-based hallucinogens (which includes the LSD series, psilobin, psilocybin, bufotenine, DMT, and others). However this doesn't seem to be a going proposition.

It's probably best
to not try to trip off nutmeg at all, as the dose required to get the hallucinogenic effects is pretty close to the dose required to kill you.

I've tripped off nutmeg several times
You need quite a lot, 10-20g of fine powder - not whole cloves - which is a right bastard to get down because it appears to expand in your mouth and stay around choking you. You then need the next 36 hours free as you settle down a very weird trip that comes on in several stages, not all them remotely pleasant. There's a few hours of stimulation, like a speedy pill buzz. Then there's full-on tripping out, where you are not sure if you are dreaming or awake and your mind is racing out of control with strange mystical revelations. Then there's actual sleep, accompanied by weird dreams. Then there's waking up and finding your body feels like a 10 ton weight and realising you wont be going anywhere for the next 12 hours - you feel the very definition of monged. All through this you can't eat anything and are likely to get very dehydrated if you don't remember to drink water.

Not worth it people, really, especially as 20g could well be fatal and 10g isn't far off that.
