"when festivals were still good"
I do wish people would stop saying this in posts. I happen to think that festivals are still good. I go to Reading Festival each year & have a great time, & no doubt I will continue to do so for a good while yet. Yes, festivals are more expensive now, but so is everything. Doesn't mean they are all shit.
That's what I think anyway.

and once i worked out that i was A) rich and old enough to pay and B) inflation means they are about the same anyway i dint mind too much...

I also think the old "when festivals were still good" quote is used as a device to:

A) Not have to bother your arse going to a festival again because
B) They will never top the ones I'VE been to and therefore
C) However much you might say you enjoy contemporary festivals, mine were BETTER. No argument. Sorry.
