My first ever boyfriend was taking me out on my first EVER real date.

I had taken the train the whole way to Sydney and found the park where we were to meet up (romantic backsetting of drunks, drugs and bums).

I had even found said boyfriend, this being the days before mobile phones were widespread or indeed, handy at all.

Immensely pleased with myself and very excited I enquired what we were doing on this date?

"Why" he replied I'm taking you to the movies."

Fantastic! That sounds exactly like the kind of thing you are supposed to do on a real date!

"What are we going to see?" I ask, trembling with romance and excitement.

"Operation Dumbo Drop."

There ended the excitement....and the relationship followed quickly. There never was any romance to be had in any case.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is my one and only real date EVER.

And my worst ever movie experience.
