This is a question B3TA fixes the world

Moon Monkey says: Turn into Jeremy Clarkson for a moment, and tell us about the things that are so obviously wrong with the world, and how they should be fixed. Extra points for ludicrous over-simplification, blatant mis-representation, and humourous knob-gags.

religion
it should be banned, and anyone caught practicing (practising?) it should be fired into the sun. the abrahamic faiths are doing their very best to destroy each other and anyone in the immediate vincinity, and religion is the number one cause of war in all of history. this would also get rid of those hypocritical wankstains who use religion as a get-out-of jail free card.

maybe then can we have a golden age of scientific enlightenment, where instead of waiting around with our collective thumbs up our assholes for jesus (or vishnu/mohammed/xenu/whoever) to help, we do it ourselves and actually make it happen. to do this, scientists and engineers should hold the place in society that priests/rabbis/whatever currently do.

does it show that i don't like religion?

i feel that the major flaw here by banning all releigeons you will make more problems
however by only allowing say Mormons or Jehovah's witnesses we can at least still take the piss at the inane attempts to promote the one true religeon

well the question does say extra points for over-simplification and misrepresentation.....!

a good chunk of holocaust victims were jewish, so religious link there?

The holocaust was an ethnic, not religious, cleansing effort.
Bonus, nob-gag? How about the song about Hitler having only one ball? Close enough.

^^ this ^^
I don't like religion either - in fact I'd class religious belief as a type of mental illness.

However, if by some magic wand we removed all religion from the world tomorrow, people would simply find some other way to divide themselves into "us" and "them" - what football team they supported, what they ate for breakfast, the colour of their eyes, whether they wore hats or not... Summarised perfectly by Swift in the war between the Big-Endians and Little-Endians.

Sadly, tribalism seems to be wired into us. And them.

sadly i agree
maybe we could just get them to tone it down a bit, seeing as religion hasn't got the place in the world it once had?

something like the american military's (now defunct) don't ask don't tell rule?

Surely not all religions?
I don't think anyone has started a war in the name of buddhism before.
