This is a question B3TA fixes the world

Moon Monkey says: Turn into Jeremy Clarkson for a moment, and tell us about the things that are so obviously wrong with the world, and how they should be fixed. Extra points for ludicrous over-simplification, blatant mis-representation, and humourous knob-gags.

Traffic lights
cause traffic. Specifically they introduce order into chaos. This is not good. Chaotic travel is good, and efficient overall. What are the junctions like where you are when the power goes out? Bet you dont have as much traffic. No one believes me but I'll run for Queen on this issue one day. Or something.

Actually true
There have been experiments where they turn off the traffic lights and traffic flow is smoother and quicker than when they were on.

Actually, not true.
In a few cases removing lights can improve traffic flow across one axis, but it is at the cost of the other.

In some cases that has little impact, so you could say it works. In fact all it rpoves is that the lights weren;t really necessary.

But try taking out a set at a busy city centre junction. It causes delays in every direction. Left to their own devices, people are idiots.

Whole idea is flawed and stupid.

Now, I'm all for a bit of chaos...
But that's just fucking stupid.
All it would do would be a) demonstrate the lack of need for certain lights and b) cause utter fucking chaos everywhere else.
