Ratmans story reminds meIve become aware of how many people around me I am now older than. Im only 29, but i have become acutely aware that any career in - say Football - is now alot more unlikely than it was when i left school. I neither play football, nor am I any good at it. Yet there is a small part of my brain that whilst weighing up the possibilities of the future, refuses to deny it ever happening.
Instead it works out that its a smaller possibility than it was a few years back.. this depresses me. I wish it could simply face the fact its not going to happen. Instead I still feel the faint tinge of hope that i might one day be picked from the stands to play for a premier league team.

I get this..But wanting to join the SAS.
As a kid, I got the SAS outfit for my action man - that and the Embassy Seige made me sure I wanted to be in the SAS. Being a lazy lump and playing too much Atari and then Speccy 48k didn't help in my dreams - but i still dreamed of it.
Even now, I'd love to be in it, the Regiment and it depresses me that I'm too old and fat to be considered for it... makes me want a time machine to go back, slap my self around the face and invent some 'anti lazy' injection i could give my 8 year old self.
