This is a question IT Support

Our IT support guy has been in the job since 1979, and never misses an opportunity to pick up a mouse and say "Hello computer" into it, Star Trek-style. Tell us your tales from the IT support cupboard, either from within or without.

I've run into a ridiculous problem on my own computer
I can't install the stand-alone FEAR expansion, Perseus Mandate, because the characters in the CD key are physically too large to be entered. How the hell is that even possible?

Reduce your font size, then.
That'll make the characters small enough to enter.

How?
Also, surely it shouldn't actually matter?

lol @ smaller font
ahahahaha :)

Uhm, do you mean... what do you mean?
Got a screengrab or something? As this is quite vague.

And if it's to do with character length are you including dashes? If so try without.

..
I think he's saying that the cd key contains too many characters?

Basically
you're meant to type four characters into each box but only thin letters will fit, an 'I' can be written four times for example wheres a 'G' cannot. 'W' can only be written twice. the CD key is fine, the entry form is borked. Anyway, I went to get refunded and it even stumped the guy in the shop.

My guess is
Wrong key. There's always a couple.
