This is a question Heroes and villains of 2011

Who were your heroes or villains of the last year, and why? Who inspired you? Who had you kicking the cat across the room? They don't have to be well known, you might even want to laud the achievements of your binman. (Note that "Nick Clegg nuff said" answers puts you straight onto our naughty list)

Hero:
my new reconstructive surgeon, for actually trying to fix me and, hopefully, succeeding sometime next year.

Villain:

my old surgeon, who wasted 20 FUCKING YEARS OF MY LIFE before finally admitting that he had no clue how to fix me and had known that all along.

i just wish he'd told me sooner
his excuse was that he'd decided i needed to lose weight, so telling me to have a gastric bypass before he'd operate on me would do me the world of good.
of course, he hasn't written any of that down anywhere.
