Telephonesme too . . . thank god for text messaging and email. I think it's got something to do with not being able to see the person at the other end, which may be related to my other irrational fear of people in costumes that cover their heads - like the ones at Disneyland. However much I'd like to go and ride the big rides, I'd freak out if Mickey or Pluto or any of the others came near.
