I always..Keep a small paper knife next to my toilet, exclusively for the purpose of "starting" toilet rolls off. Different brands require different techniques, some require the delicate attention of small nail scissors to ensure a clean start. Maybe you could open up the whole pack and spend a few minutes preparing each roll to avoid stress at what should be the most relaxing and enjoyable of times.
