don't know about over therebut in America, the health status of an inmate is confidential....very confidential. The only way inmates find out about HIV in other inmates is if the one infected tells others. Which is why all officers view all inmates as having every disease imaginable.
Also, and i'm not 100% sure about this point, but if that happened here, I'm pretty sure he would have been charged with attempted murder for knowingly infecting her (ie: having sex with her without first telling her of his HIV status)
