This is a question Messing with the Dark Side

We all like to tell stories about the *spooky* things that happen when people mess around with Ouija boards, hexes and spells.
A friend had wierd banging noises in his house for months and was deeply, deeply worried that it was the result of getting drunk and attempting to summon the devil.*

What's scared the crud out of you after you've played with the dark side?

* it turned out to be a tramp living in his attic (no, really). Also, -5 points for rubbish Star Wars jokes

Yup, hospitals and nursing homes are certainly uber-spooky.
All that death.

I have worked in dozens and had many deliciously creepy experiences, and heard of lots more.

In one old folks' home, an elderly lady died one Boxing day morning.

This lady's room was at the far end of an upstairs corridor. She used to like all the lights on in her room, her door open and also the corridor lights on at night.

The staff would tiptoe in and put the lighs off and close the door when she was asleep, just as you would a child.

Late on this Boxing night, one of the night staff noticed that the deceased elderly lady's lights were on, doors open etc as normal. She assumed that someone had been tidying the room so she strode down there, put out the room lights, closed the door, put out the corridor lights (leaving only dim nighlights on) and walked the ten yards to the nurses' station.

When she got there and turned round towards the corridor, to her horror, all the corridor lights were back on and the end room was fully lit up, with the door open!

The woman had a screaming do and was all for walking out there and then.

Nobody could have followed her and pulled her leg as she was the only staff member on that floor (care homes being notoriously low on staff at night) and all the residents were bedridden.

And don't get me started on the invisible fly. Brrr.
