This is a question Pet Names

I once knew a cat called Lenin. It got diarrhea so they renamed it Trotsky. Tell us the name of your pet - but only if you've got an amusing or interesting reason for it. Tiddles need not apply.

Jim and Irving
Jim from "GM", short for "Grey Mouser" from the Fritz Leiber books. Awesome cat: not only can she bring home animals twice her normal, housecat size, she's mothered so many kittens the RSPCA will no doubt neuter us. Ah, the glories of country living....

We also have a cat named "Irving" (IV), because it's the fourth black-and-white stray that's owned us. He's the only cat who walked up to the front door on New Year's Day, walked in the house like he owned it, and has yet to stop acting like a spaz*. Brilliant.

-----
* Defined as suddenly getting up, tearing through the house at 9 000 kph, racing out the cat flap, and ending up head first in the pond. Repeatedly. For no reason.
