You were luckyI couldn't find my P60 one year when they said I owed around £5k in tax. I couldn't give them the exact tax figure I had paid.
When I told them "you've obviously got the amount I paid, can't you just tell me" they said I'd have to get a duplicate. No options.
A month later I had a new P60, rang up and was just about to tell them the amount I'd paid when the bugger on the other end just told me.
To round it off, they still insisted I owed £5,315.32, but received unspecified rebates to the sum of £5,315.32. Strange...
