Well doneI had a manager a few years back in that same position. He was a great manager and everyone liked him. The directors used that same logic about experience on him and off he went taking several staff with him to a company round the corner.
His replacement was an utter twunt and productivity dropped (he lasted a couple of months before all the other dept managers complained and got rid of him). I like to think the big boss learnt something from this but as he was too busy trying to get rid of the secretary he'd been shagging it probably went unnoticed.
