When my boiler caught fire and more-or-less wrecked my house, I had to phone *my* loss adjuster to ask for money to pay for rent on another place while mine was being repaired.

He asked why I needed it - I said to pay for rent (duh!).

Hi reply was that it wasn't his fault that the house was ruined and that I had to pay rent to stay somewhere else.

What?

If I'd crashed my car into someone elses, would he also have claimed that it wasn't his fault and therefore didn't have to pay out?
