This is a question Public Transport Trauma

Completely Underwhelmed writes, "I was on a bus the other day when a man got on wearing shorts, over what looked like greeny grey leggings. Then the stench hit me. The 'leggings' were a mass of open wounds, crusted with greenish solidified pus that flaked off in bits as he moved."

What's the worst public transport experience you've ever had?

People with reserved seat train tickets:
Why do they still insist in sitting in their reserved seat even when the carriage is virtually empty?
Secondly; whats wrong with people these days? Nobody wants to talk to each other anymore, just keep stuck in their own selfish little world. Not that I go round bothering people, but just an observation. I blame consumerism and society!
Thirdly; Why do do business people think its their right to sprawl their work/company laptop across a table?
Fouthly; When you try to get off a train why do people on the platform thrust themsleves into the breach like a marauding army before you have the chance to set foot upon firm ground? Do they think there's a prize for whoever gets the 'best seats'?

Well I've had my say at least.

Isn't that what the table is for?
To put things on...

Personal opinion.
1) Because I have paid for it and it is mine. There's no accidentally sitting in a seat booked for someone else or the worry that if a lot of people get on then you might end up crushed somewhere shite or booted out your seat.

2) My favourite hobby is daydreaming and I adore train journeys for the purpose of looking out the window in a daze at the beautiful scenery. I've paid for this. I want to bloody well enjoy it.

I got a woman talk to me for *three and a half hours* (non stop- literally). I know her life inside and out and yet missed all the joys of the beautiful coast, the yellow flowering fields, the clouds, the dreams...

3) Agree with this. Table should be for all, not just their oh-so-important work.

4) It might be to get window seats? That's why I try but I stand out the way for people getting off first.
