This is a question Rubbish Towns

I once went to Basildon. It was closed, I got chased by a bunch of knuckle-dragged yobs until I was lost in a maze of concrete alleyways and got food poisoning off pie. Tell us about the awful places you've visited or have your home.

Thanks to SpankyHanky for the suggestion

Peterborough.
The only city you can navigate purely by sense of smell.

*Sniff*

Hmm. Dog food. Ah! Westgate.

*Snort*

Ahh, baked goods. Orton Centre.

*Hnnnf*

Oil and despair. The rest of it.

That city's only claim to fame is that it has the highest average road speed of any in the UK. Thanks to the endless parkways. Joy.

I did the half marathon in Peterborough recently
and I think they got it badly wrong.

You spend the first half running away from the centre, which is great, but then you spend the second half running back towards it.

The last thing you want after 6.5 miles of running is to run back towards Peterborough.

And they call it the "Great Eastern Run". It really isn't very great.

I used to live not too far from peterborough
Thankfully i went to university, and dont have to go anywhere near it :D

I will agree with you completely there, the stench of P'town is quite horrific. I seem to distinctly remember the park near... New Road (i think) that always seemed to smell of chlorine... that could have just been me though....
