This is a question Sexism

Freddie Woo tells us: Despite being a well rounded modern man I think women are best off getting married and having a few kids else they'll be absolutely miserable come middle age.

What views do you have that are probably sexist that you believe are true?

Genitalia
Apparently, women are freely allowed to comment with impunity on the appearance of a man's genitals, say that foreskins look disgusting, or weird, or gross, and make rather ignorant comments about nob cheese.

Yet, if I were to comment on a woman's labia, the technically inessential but sensitive and natural skin that varies greatly in size an appearance on a woman, I'd be strung up from the nearest tree. To remove the labia would be painful and unnecessary, and, quite rightly, I can't insist upon it. Yet, it seems that it's perfectly fine for there to be some sort of pressure on men to have their foreskins amputated.

Men have a foreskin for a reason
you can keep things in it, such as chewing gum for later.

Breasts
Apparently, men are freely allowed to comment with impunity on the appearance of a woman's breasts, say that big tits look disgusting, or weird, or gross, and make rather ignorant comments about being flat-chested or saggy.

Yet, if I were to comment on a man's chest hair, the technically inessential but natural skin covering that varies greatly in fluffiness and appearance on a man, I'd be strung up from the nearest tree. To remove the chest hair by waxing would be painful and unnecessary, and, quite rightly, I can't insist upon it. Yet, it seems that it's perfectly fine for there to be some sort of pressure on women to have their breasts enhanced surgically and non-surgically.

The point I'm trying clumsily to make is that some members of each sex are boorish and stupid. They make insensitive comments about others of the opposite sex based on prejudice and thoughtlessness and this is true regardless of their own sex. Caring men and women should join together against the stupid and decide not to make ignorant comments about other people. They shouldn't be whining about how they want to be able to make unpleasant personal comments but that the PC brigade won't let them and it's unfaaaaairrrrr.

True equality is about being equally fair and pleasant to each other, not having the right to be equally prejudiced and unpleasant.

I don't make this point
to try and give myself some right to comment harshly on women's genitals, but to illustrate a double standard.

I think that unflattering comments on women's breasts are also insensitive, demeaning, and generally abhorrent, and I think almost all right thinking and decent people would agree.

I was commenting on societal attitudes and acceptability towards disgusting comments from, and about, both sexes.

TheMrSnark
He once went out with a girl he described as having 'a labia like Dumbo's ears and a vagina with the odor and circumference of Dumbo's anus'. He made the mistake of thinking this description out loud in front of a group of friends.

Dumbo got word of this and, 2 years later, punched him square in the jaw at a party. It was, apparently, 'deserved'. He was escorted from the party and, thusly, lost many friends owing to his apparent abhorrent behaviour.

Years later, we were on the N29 when we came across Dumbo's very drunk current beau.

"You were right," he said, and gave TheMrSnark a hug.
