This is a question Social Networking Gaffes

Freddy Woo writes, "My school bully just friended me on Facebook!" No doubt he pokes him, and then demands his lunch money.

Personally, last month a scantily clad young woman confused me with her fiance, with whom I share a first and last name. I'm still not sure she's noticed, but she's going to be mortified when she does.

What's the biggest mistake you've made using a social networking site?

seriously, though, I love a good blog as it's usually well-written and, whilst the subject may be niche (like my gaming/retro macintosh stuff), it's usually of interest. I like a good forum as you can get a lot of good advice from people with actual experience, I can always recommend signing up to pistonheads.com if you're into cars, for example, or warseer.com if you like wargames (i.e Warhammer, Confrontation, etc). You will find things to amuse, inform and help you.

Facebook brings nothing but triviality and the espousal of the idea that everyone should be a celebrity in some way. If you're 16, think, work in Morrisons and binge-drink, I might like to see you naked, but I certainly don't want to hear your views on "Who is fitter: Simon Cowell or That Bloke Off Eastenders?"...
