(and some random threadwastage)
I've been waiting to do that all day.
I did it yesterday and the thread got deleted. I don't really think they're a cunt, I just wanted to try that out.

It may have been me that started that thread.
It's funny the way everyone professes to hate threadwastes but they result in some of the most amusing and worthwhile conversations.

People who inappropriately use the word 'random'
are the very work of the Devil.
100% FACT.

100% FACT.
This guy (stup0t) has the right idea about things being 'random':

Random isn't wrong though
In those cases, they are correct uses of the word, just not as precise as the replacements he suggests.
From dictionary.com:
* Having no specific pattern, purpose, or objective
I'm completely anal about spelling and grammar, but I don't see your problem.

I don't know, it's just that so may reall boring people
tend to use the word 'random' every other fucking sentence. You know what I mean: "Oh, I had the randomest day..." meaning, roughly, "Something very slightly interesting, perhaps a fairly likely coincidence of some sort, happenned today".
You know what I mean.

Well...
now it's at the forefront of my mind, I'm sure I'll notice it and wax* insane too.
* Current linguistic bugbear: people using wax (the verb) as if it means talk, despite that it means 'become increasingly'. Seem to come across it a lot lately.

How about 'decimate', used as if it means 'devastate'?
As in "The seal population has been decimated". Well, that's not so bad, is it, it's only 10%.

Quite
I was chatting about that the other day with a flatmate. Seems that current use has it to mean "down to 10 per cent".
However, that one doesn't actually bother me. It's pretty random which mistake will or won't get my goat. Um, I mean it's pretty erratic.
Now, "I could care less" - that's guaranteed to bring out the paedagogue in me.
