# if you like this then
get a book called rudoku

basically does the same thing but theres loads of puzzles, but you have to work out the word after completing the puzzle as it is spelled out somewhere on the puzzle

bacon slit
fudge slot
lungwarts
dogbreath
ring flaps
deck quoit

and more, if you don't know what half of those meant (like innocent me) there is a lexicon of filth in the back explaining all their meanings

like it - and it's a big FO to people like Carol Vorderman advertising Sudokus as maths problems. They ain't. You can put anything you want in those little boxes and still solve them the same way.
(, Thu 27 Jul 2006, 10:04, archived)
# does she really claim that?
they're obviously logic puzzles.
(, Thu 27 Jul 2006, 10:08, archived)

I was being a little unfair on La Vorderman, true. But there's definitely a strain of people thinking they're maths based because they involve numbers and she's promoting the puzzles with her own sudoku brand. However if it gets people interested in doing Hard Sums then I suppose it's a good thing. I prefer Logic Problems, myself - the rainy British holiday standby ;-)
