# My old man thought that when I started shaving
I should have his old eletric shavers from the 60's-70's.
1) My stubble is generally too thick for lekky shavers.
2) They were so old they had a battery box which you had to plug the cable into and you had to change the batteries every 30 seconds or the motors would slow down and just start pulling randow clumps of beard out).
3) The blades were blunt and antiquated.

# I wanted a cut throat.
(, Thu 6 Nov 2008, 10:57, archived)
# If you've never been for a proper cut throat shave you have to go.
I go occasionally with I want to treat myself. You really do feel great afterwards and there's no closer shave you can have.

# very true
Although you do feel very, very vulnerable...

# Naaaa.
I go to a traditional Italian barber just round the corner. The guy's been shaving people for a little over 40 years!

# them's the best
with the hot towels and everything, to draw out the beard.
(, Thu 6 Nov 2008, 11:07, archived)
# I watched 'Sweeney Todd' not long back
(the Tim Burton film, not the 70s TV police drama)
I will therefore be giving cut-throats a wide berth for a while...

# oh god! that brings back memories:
I 'inherited' my nan's husband's (does that make him my step-granddad or my grand-step-dad, or what?) electric razor when I was a young Raff. It was shite. Having never used anything else, though, I assumed all razors were designed to rip the hairs from your face with violence, rather than actually cut them with sharpness.
(, Thu 6 Nov 2008, 10:59, archived)
# Hahaha yeah
To this day I still wet shave. They're yet to make a lekky one that can do a better job.
(, Thu 6 Nov 2008, 11:01, archived)
# that was the only elecric shaver I ever tried
so I've no idea how good modern ones are. I like wet shaving anyway, so they can keep their damnable new-fangled contraptions.
(, Thu 6 Nov 2008, 11:07, archived)
# Well they're going to be shite unless you change the blade regularly
which I'm guessing not many people do going by the price of them.
(, Thu 6 Nov 2008, 11:13, archived)
# That looks to be a very smooth shave
makes him all the more kissable - if he had lips.
(, Thu 6 Nov 2008, 10:48, archived)
# ha! I liked this so much
I bought the company...
(, Thu 6 Nov 2008, 10:48, archived)
