I have just been reading Bill Bryson's Notes From A Small Island, and was almost crying at his commentary about blokes in pubs discussing how to get from A to B by car - left at the second roundabout at Sodding Chipbury, then turn right by the pub in Little Arsehole ("Nice little pub, that" someone will say, "They do a good pint of Old Toejam" ...).
