I was conversing with a TV writer chap on twitter about this
I was adamant any writer worth his salt wouldn't do it. But he maintained the writer to get the job would surely be the one who can plausibly bring Vader back. Would love to see that treatment.
I still think Han and Leia's kids would work best, carrying on the theme of family. And commercially too, in bringing in younger heroes for the new fans. It depends how they bring Vader back I guess.

Judging by episode 6
he's coming back in a ashtray. Judging by episode 1,2 and 3 however, he'll be riding a fucking unicorn while pissing on my childhood.

And bringing him back from the ashes it will quite literally be, given Luke burnt him at the end of the Return of the Jedi
I was kinda relieved when they announced it would be completely original material, given the expanded universe rapidly became ridiculous in my opinion. The Empire was basically the oppression of the Sith, and there were only two of them, who are both dead.
