This is a question Bugs and feature requests

Found a problem on B3ta? Want other features that we don't currently offer? Type your ideas here with your finger-mouths. (We don't promise we'll act on any of it, but we will read it and your words could even prompt us into action.)

B3-Mail
[email protected] email addresses. that would be soooo cool!

Well..
Bit corporate but why not work out how to make some proper money before you get bored and decide to sell B3TA to the man?

Mini one
When you click 'I like this' on /talk, it goes onto the list that you can get to from your profile.
However, while this is amusing it's not much practical use: could it possibly have the link-images (as the 'popular' board does) so that you can link back to the post you liked much later?

chronological post search thing
there should be a thing on this website where people can search for posts by time - this is a suggestion that im hoping a mod may see

lot's of B3tards with musical abilities here
either recording with a mic, or fiddling with audio software...

How about an occasional audio contest?

Set up a theme or a topic, and we'll get cracking.

When searching for a post in glasco.cx
it would be really handy if you could go "up" a post from the result - you know, so you can see the post that it was replying to as well, otherwise you get posts but with no context.

more for novelty value
What about a timer (viewable in your profile) that clocks how long you've been logged on to the boards, and how many times you've pressed F5?
I'm always interested to see how many posts I and other board users have done, how about a way of seeing how much of our lives are spent on here?
Maybe even a way of calculating how much money we've 'earned' at work whilst sitting here!

robtoo edit: glassco.cx/timer/b3tatimer-setup.exe :)

edit: ooh, ta very much!

Suggestions
How about cutting off the 'suggestions for QOTW/Challenges' after a week or a month so that we can all see the most popular suggestions in a reasonable timescale. This may encourage more people to make suggestions or vote for good ones.

Also, how about disabling the 'I like this' button on any post that asks you to click 'I like this'?

I have a lovely idea,
A new years honours list. Every year awards are given for the best (and worst) b3tards in various categories. You could even let us vote.

Well..
I rather like the idea of a post being automatically FP'd once it reaches a certain critical mass of "I like this!" clicks.

Oh, and allow SWFs (within reasonable file size).

Oh, and I'd like to see how many people clicked on "I like this!" for my posts.

Oooh! and an automatic FP for all Sheep! posts.

How about...
A 'NSFW' button under picture threads, and to avoid it being abused by one person using multiple clicks, a way to log how many different users have clicked. Might be a good little self moderation thingy to avoid the inevitable sacking for looking at goatse or some other type of nawtyness!

It might be interesting
to have an "FP'd by..." underneath FP'd images.

Noob playroom,
when anyone noobs up, they get sent to a special board instead of the main board for a week. Every hour an automated message says "Naughty noob, you're very naughty"

How about the possibility of loading your own icon?

As a QOTW addict
Will you be doing a 'most popular QOTW replies of the year' for Crimbo?

Please.

Go on.

I dare ya.

I'd like to see some...
RSS feeds linking to new and updated content. I can use RSS to monitor all sorts of other stuff, so how about it?

I'd be pleased to help implement the feature too, being as I'm going to use it. Just ask!

a link
to the links board from the front page would be nice...

Hello there.
How about a popular page for the question of the week while it's still open, so you wouldn't have to wait until it closed to read the better ones.

Also, a 'how many i like this clicks' a user or image has recieved, but not neccessarily which users have clicked.
(, Wed 8 Nov 2006, 13:39, Reply)
Bug (possibly): the sweary filter
blocks the word 'pronounced'.

New links
"I don't like this" is a great idea obviously, and another welcome addition would be a "This person is clearly a cunt" link.
(, Wed 8 Nov 2006, 13:25, Reply)
Search engine
a decent search engine would be good, Xapian would probably do it and is free/OSS.

"dont like this" button
for goatse,pr0n and the like.when an image gets "x" number of "dont like this" clicks,it shall be deleted!

make usernames case insensitve
wearning my mod hat now, but most email going "argh! can't log in!" is because the user has logged in as badgersex instead of BadgerSex.

Yes I know replying to myself looks weird, but it's handy to have all this stuff in the same place.
(, Wed 8 Nov 2006, 12:32, Reply)
A decent /talk search function
I'm still trying to find a bloody recipe posted up last year :)
