Laugh at the cancer man
For my sins I used to review shows at the Edinburgh Fringe. Ye gods and little fishes, I sat through some keech and could not walk out.

The worst was Edward the Deckchair - an "hilarious!!!" student revue. I will not bore you with details of how utterly shite this was but I've had funnier kicks in the happy sacks.

The one amusing bit was when a member of the cast tried to improvise and started mocking a bald man in the audience of five. Don't get me wrong: the banter was painfully unfunny. The unintentional humour came from the fact that the rest of us could see what those on stage could not: that the man's tufty baldness was obviously caused by some very heavy chemotherapy.

You are clearly not from Buxton
As a quote from the Buxton fringe reads thusly...

1986

Sketch group Edward the Deckchair arrive in Buxton. They become firm favourites coming back every year until 1990.

Oh yes. Had the same when I first skinned my head.
Went with a mate to meet some of her mates - started getting on with an equally-beskin-headed bloke, said to him - "So you're one of us, then - straight out of the cancer ward?"

He laughed - genuinely laughed, shook his head - found it funny - and said "You weren't to know, and I know you're just having a laugh and I don't want to do your head in, so I'll get it over with: yes I am - non-Hodgkinson's lymphoma."

This is funny !
What would have made it funnier is if the poor chemo guy had got up and said very loudly "I HAVE CANCER YOU CUNTS". If you thought they were dying before this would've truly been the last nail in the coffin.

Ah
I always wondered what happened to Edward the Deckchair, they just vanished at the height of their fame.
