Is it you?" That sorted it. Stories of people blissfully unaware of their bad smells, bad manners and foghorn voices.

Hey! I have a pair of those cycling shoes!If they didn't make the clippy-cloppy sound, how would I inform everyone of my superiority? Grab them by the shoulders, shake them, and yell "I'VE JUST BEEN CYCLING, YOU FLAT-FOOTED PLEB!"? Honestly, you just don't think, do you?

Dressing UpI used to live next to a posh bike shop in Glasgow. One sunny Saturday I spent most of the day mending my car outside, and so was able to observe their customers. A non-trivial number - as in "several every hour" - turned up in the full commercial-covered gear, the helmet, the clippy shoes ... and NO FUCKING BICYCLE.

the issue is pressurewider cleats spread the pressure over the ball of the foot over longer rides and are therefore more comfortable.
the shoes that the wider base cleats come on tend to be stiffer as well, making your pedal stroke more effecient and taking the strain off your insole.
