Was it written by the Kaiser Chiefs?

Hehe.
I suppose that Pete Townsend is still persona non grata after his "computer problems"

Who are these 'Kaiser chief' of whom you speak ?
Are they one of the popular new 'beat combos' that all the young people are 'grooving' to nowadays perchance?

Not really, not any more
They had a few "hits" some years ago and have dropped off the radar, more or less exactly since they released the depressingly accurate self-reflection "Everything is Average Nowadays".

However they were wheeled out to perform a Who track at the Olympic closing ceremony, despite the fact that the Who were there and closed the night. Bizarre.

Ah! I was baffled by the reference to them
Didn't watch the closing ceremony for 2 reasons:-
1/ I don't own a TV
2/ See 1/ above

Further baffled because they weren't born when 'Tommy' was released, thanks for clearing it up.

Bit of a slap in the face for them really
But then there were a lot of funny song choices made. If someone had tapped Annie Lennox on the shoulder and said "You're doing Sweet Dreams you mad bint" it would have saved a lot of head-scratching in the audience

I think the closing cermony was spoiled by indulging the music stars.
They should have all been asked to do the songs they are famous for, not something from the new album they are pushing.
